Drawn from lived experience, Le Prix d'Être Une Femme reflects on the constant and persistent anxieties that shape women’s daily navigation of a patriarchal world. It considers the entitlement embedded in the male gaze - its casual violences, its insistence on access, its ability to render the female body both vulnerable and exposed. These encounters, often dismissed or absorbed in silence, form an unspoken reality around us. This piece creates the female body in lace and crochet - either worn and active, or left empty - embracing fragility as both subject and material language.
