Biography
Working on paintings in mixed media , Abigail Yentis has a noted way of “bringing the content to life”. Yentis explores the relationship between the environments and narratives of where we as humans lie within space and time. Her recent work is inspired by impressionism and the imagination, often using nature as an influence and inspiration. Building scrapbook style paintings, using patchworks of colour and expression as her instrument.
Abigail trained at the Hampstead School of Art and is based in London. Initially focusing on portraits, she subsequently moved through abstract and impressionism to her current blend of styles. Similarly, Abigail has moved from ‘conventional’ media such as oil paint and acrylic to using a wide range of materials including house paint, enamel paint and even adding physical objects to paintings such as paint pot lids, vinyl records and rubber gloves! Each new painting project is therefore a bespoke combination of styles and media to suit the individual requirements of the piece.

For many years, Abigail has also been teaching both children and adults (occasionally together!) on a variety of techniques and in a variety of settings, eg home tuition, art fairs, live painting demonstrations, evening classes, work-based team-building / bonding and parties. Classes range from one-to-one to large groups. Each session is carefully tailored to the clientele, the aims of the session, and the available budget.

Abigail also makes pendants and other jewellery, mostly with a natural / nature theme.
