Tracing an intimate negotiation with loneliness, artificial solace, and the ache for touch. I’ll be Late is part of a series rooted in a childhood memory of assembling a makeshift embrace from pillows and marigold gloves, reflecting on skin hunger and the fragile systems we devise to soothe ourselves. Figures lean into fabricated, quasi-mechanical forms - structures that mimic comfort while withholding true connection. Marigold gloves recur as a mediated, slightly absurd surrogate for touch, while hands emerge as primary agents of contact: reaching, seeking, and asserting the fundamental desire to know and be known.
